About the Department |
The Education Institutes (Women’s Training Institute, Ashoka Road and Vocational Training Institute at Dwarka) of the YWCA of Delhi works as a beacon of light imparting high quality vocational education. It aims at the empowering of women by providing them with the necessary skills and motivation to become self-reliant. It provides a platform for vocational education and training through various job-oriented courses.

Qualification |
- ⮚ Master’s degree in Fashion Design/ Fashion Management / Fashion Technology from reputed institution/university
- ⮚ Must have computer knowledge i.e. must have knowledge of CAD software, textile innovation and sustainable practices
- ⮚ Must have passion for Teaching and ability to effectively instruct all subject in the Fashion Technology Diploma Course
- ⮚ Subject knowledge on Fashion Illustration, Pattern Making, Apparel Construction is essential
- ⮚ Subject knowledge on Fashion Merchandising, History of Costume, Textile, Fashion Theory with practical experience will be an added advantage
- ⮚ Strong understanding of fashion design principles and garment construction.
- ⮚ Excellent communication, interpersonal, and organizational skills.
- ⮚ Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- ⮚ Passion for teaching and mentoring students.
- ⮚ Strong portfolio of personal work demonstrating technical skills (if applicable).

Experience |
- ⮚ Minimum 1-2 years Teaching Experience in vocational training courses / any Fashion Technology institute / Colleges or must have worked under any Fashion Designer / Company

Roles and Responsibilities |
- Teaching :
- Develop and deliver lectures on topics such as:
- Drafting and paper pattern
- Apparel designing and construction
- Introduction to textiles and fashion designing
- Fashion Illustration
- Fashion Merchandising
- Guide students in developing technical skills and problem-solving abilities.
- Prepare and administer assessments, including exams, projects, and critiques.
- Maintain accurate student records and progress reports.
- Mentorship:
- Provide individual and group guidance to students on their technical projects.
- Foster a collaborative and innovative learning environment.
- Advise students on career paths in the fashion technology field.
- Assist students in preparing for industry certifications and internships.
- Industry Engagement:
- Maintain strong connections with the fashion technology industry through collaborations, guest lectures, and industry visits.
- Stay abreast of the latest advancements in fashion technology.
- Participate in faculty development programs to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.
- Administrative:
- Contribute to the development and review of the fashion technology curriculum.
- Participate in departmental meetings if and when needed.
- Assist with the organization of workshops, demonstrations, and industry events.
- The position holder will be responsible for:
- (i) Should be able to maintain a good rapport with the students.
- (ii) Should ensure the compliance of the process and systems in the office.
- (iii) Should be prompt in replying to student’s queries
- (iv) Should be well versed with virtual platforms for promotions, workshops, webinars, taking sessions, examination
- (v) Should be able to assist other department as and when needed
